Friends of Jack Foundation has made a major contribution to St. Luke’s Hospital, funding a pediatric video EEG camera and a nitrous oxide machine that will significantly enhance care for young patients. These new technologies expand Southcoast Health’s diagnostic capabilities and help reduce pain and anxiety during procedures, bringing greater comfort, precision, and support to children across the region.

A surprise $10,000 donation from Lapointe Insurance, made possible through the Liberty Mutual and Safeco Make More Happen Award, is helping Friends of Jack continue critical programs like Child Life Specialists and Superhero Bears. This story is a powerful reminder of how community support can transform children's hospital experiences across the South Coast.

Despite stormy weather, the 2025 Big Game Battle in Nantucket raised an incredible $125,000 for the Friends of Jack Foundation. United by community and cause, boat crews, sponsors, and supporters showed just how powerful generosity can be in making a real impact on children’s health and well-being across the South Coast.

The Hero In Us, Friends of Jack’s heartfelt short film about Jack Fearons’ real-life superhero journey, made its national debut at San Diego Comic-Con. Selected from over 1,000 submissions, the film powerfully blends animation and live-action to share a story of resilience, love, and discovering one’s true superpower—now told on a national stage.

The Friends of Jack Foundation was honored with the Best in Show award at the 2025 Marion Independence Day Parade—its fourth win in six years—celebrating its ongoing commitment to children's health and community impact in the SouthCoast.

Lapointe Insurance’s second annual “Swing into the Spring” fundraiser at TopGolf Rhode Island raised over $23,000 for Friends of Jack, reinforcing their unwavering support for children’s health programs. As a token of gratitude, FOJ gifted custom sneakers blending both brands—celebrating a partnership rooted in generosity and shared purpose.

Colony Drywall in Westport recently donated $7,000 to support the Friends of Jack Foundation’s Hero Bear program.

Staff members at the Burn Center at Rhode Island Hospital (RIBC) teamed up with the Friends of Jack Foundation to run 19.3 miles at Disney World in November and raised $25,000 for improvements to technology and patient experience at the RIBC.

We are excited to name Cindy Stulac as our Volunteer of the Year for 2024!

From rising Director and Writer Alex Stulac comes a short-film, “The Hero In Us”, exploring the origins of the Friends of Jack Foundation. The upcoming release will make its world premiere at the Friends of Jack Foundation’s Annual Celebration on September 28 at Arch of the Meadow in Rochester, Massachusetts.

To help calm nerves and reduce fears related to surgery, pediatric patients at St. Luke’s Hospital can now drive themselves into the operating room. The drivable, toy car is decorated with child-favorite superheroes, has functioning headlights and can be driven either by children themselves, or by remote control.

The Friends of Jack Foundation will award $200,000 in grants to improve pediatric care, including funding for child life specialists and medical technology at St. Luke’s Hospital and Tobey Hospital, and support for the Child Life Department at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
