Big Game Battle 2025: A Weekend of Camaraderie, Generosity, and Making Waves for Kids

This year’s Big Game Battle may have started with rough seas that kept most boats docked on day one, but nothing could dampen the spirit, energy, and generosity of this incredible community.

From July 31 in Nantucket through a weekend full of events, the Big Game Battle family came together with a shared purpose: to catch big fish and make a difference for the children and families served by the Friends of Jack Foundation.

When the final tally came in, the Big Game Battle pledged an astounding $125,000 to Friends of Jack through its fundraising efforts - a number made possible by the kindness, commitment, and camaraderie of everyone involved, especially the boat captains and crews.

From the very start, the weekend felt like one big family reunion — captains, crews, sponsors, and supporters all united by a love of the ocean and a desire to give back. Whether on the docks, at the merchandise table, or out on the water, the atmosphere was buzzing with connection and purpose.

It was a return to the core spirit of the Big Game Battle - the same family-first feeling the O’Neil family built into the event from the beginning. This year, we were welcomed in with open arms and felt it everywhere.

Every single contribution - from calcutta entries to live auction bids - played a part in helping raise this incredible sum for the Friends of Jack. While the weather kept the calcutta proceeds lighter than in years past, the generosity of this group more than made up for it.

We are especially grateful to:

  • Oyster Harbors Marine and Monahan’s Marine: Major sponsors who helped power this year’s success.
  • Evans Machine Co. and Condyne Capital Partners: Each funded a Therapy Car.
  • James Rogan and Billy Shouldice: For their tireless work to make this event and fundraiser such a wild success.
  • Howl at the Moon Boston: For hosting our Pre-Party Fundraiser, which alone raised over $25,000.
  • Monahan’s Marine – Whose silent raffle in Weymouth brought in another $4,000 for the cause.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the entire Big Game Battle family. Your generosity has made a tangible difference, and we can’t wait to share updates on the impact your gifts will have on the children we serve.

Here’s to many more years of friendship, fishing, and making waves for a brighter future.
