The Friends of Jack Foundation is made up of just two full-time employees, so volunteers play a vital role in our ability to go beyond our normal scope of work. We rely heavily on our team of volunteers to help grow the foundation, join our team today!

Volunteer Positions

Work At Events
Minimum Age: 21
Commitment: 3-5 hours during the event.

As a volunteer at the event, your duties include assisting with registration, guiding attendees, and providing information about the event schedule. You may also help set up or clean up event spaces, manage supplies, and ensure that guests have a positive experience.

Set Up and/or Break Down for Events
Minimum Age: 14 (with legal guardian's consent)
Commitment: 5-8 hours in the weeks leading up to and proceeding the event.

As a volunteer setting up for an event, your duties involve organizing event materials, decorations, and equipment according to the event plan. You will also assist with preparing the venue, ensuring all areas are ready for attendees, and helping with any last-minute adjustments.

Deliver Hero Bears to Hospitals, Police Stations, Etc.
Minimum Age: 16 (with a legal drivers license and legal guardian's consent)
Commitment: 2-3 hours per week, for at least six months. Gas and mileage will be reimbursed.

As a volunteer delivering Hero Bears to a location, your duties include safely transporting and unloading items to the designated area. You will ensure all goods are delivered on time and properly placed, following any specific instructions provided by the contact at the location.

Assemble Superhero/Stuffed Animal Packages
Minimum Age: 12 (with legal guardian's consent)
Commitment: 2-3 hours, one day every few months.

As a volunteer assembling Hero Bear packages, your duties include ensuring that all required materials are gathered, arranged, and packed cohesively for distribution. This role requires attention to detail and efficiency to guarantee accuracy and meet Friends of Jack’s delivery standards.

Assist with Mass Mailings
Minimum Age: 12 (with legal guardian's consent)
Commitment: 2-3 hours, one day every few months.

As a volunteer assisting with mass mailing, your duties include ensuring that outreach materials are prepared, addressed, and distributed efficiently to reach the intended audience. This involves coordinating tasks, managing resources, and maintaining accuracy to support the goals of the Friends of Jack.

Create and/or Edit Videos from Events
Minimum Age: 18
Commitment: 2-3 hours per event when available.

As a volunteer helping to capture video at an event, your responsibilities include recording key moments, and ensuring high-quality footage that aligns with the event's goals. This role involves operating video equipment, maintaining focus on important activities, and providing the event's highlights to the Friends of Jack for future use.

Take Photographs at Events
Minimum Age: 18
Commitment: 2-3 hours per event when available.

As a volunteer taking photos at an event, your duties include capturing important moments and key details to visually document the occasion. This role involves using photography equipment to produce high-quality images that reflect the event's atmosphere and support its promotional or archival needs.

Create Social Media Posts
Minimum Age: 18
Commitment: 5 hours per week, for at least six months. There will be an opportunity for future compensation based on performance.

As a volunteer managing our social media, your responsibilities include organizing, creating and curating content to engage the audience and promote the Friends of Jack's mission. This role involves scheduling posts, responding to interactions, and analyzing performance to ensure a consistent and impactful online presence.
