You may not know who Jack Toland is, but you may have known someone who has been in his shoes. Jack is a long time member of Portland's cycling community; a local racer, coach, and professional in the industry. The day before Thanksgiving in 2009, Jack was severely injured in a bicycle crash breaking both his hip and elbow. With no job or health insurance, Jack was facing mounting medical bills and a long road in rehabilitation. His family and friends back in Philadelphia where he was born, raised, and raced, got the ball rolling with a fundraiser back in December 2009.

So far we have raised over $30,000 – we couldn't have done it without you! We've been able to help many beneficiaries, and we hope to do even more for those who find themselves in need.

We've got the support of the local community to come back and do the third annual event again in White Salmon, Washington, on July 21, 2012. We'll have the same great food and beverages from our sponsors at Everybody's Brewing, Fred Meyer, Chiquita, Fresh Express, and Izze. We are starting to procure great items for our silent auction, and we'll have great entertainment as well. Save the date and help us get the word out!

It is the support of many that make an event like this a success. Please consider what you can do to join our effort in 2012. Wondering what you can do to help? Try one of these…

  • Tell your friends and family about the event.
  • Have an auction item to donate? Contact us!
  • We'll be contacting our awesome donors from last year soon to provide the same fantastic items and opportunities.
  • Interested or know someone who'd like to volunteer? Come one, come all – send them our way.
  • And of course – sign up for the ride!
Looking forward to seeing all of you out in White Salmon on July 21, 2012!
